New: Internet for Science

Posted November 5th, 2007 by Emma Place

Intute has launched a new edition of the Internet for Science online tutorial in the Virtual Training Suite.  The tutorial is free to use and is ideal for use in Further Education courses in chemistry, biology, physics and general science.

The tutorial offers a tour of key websites for the sciences and teaches Internet research skills, such as Internet searching and critical evaluation of Internet resources.  It includes some lively success stories describing some practical examples of students using the Internet to support their science courses.

The tutorial has been completely updated and revised by Anne Reed from the The John Rylands University Library, The University of Manchester, and is based on an original version by Dr Stuart Barker, Chemistry Course Leader, Park College.

Internet for Science” will be updated and maintained by staff at Intute: Science, Engineering and Technology.
