Intute: Social Sciences’ Romania and Bulgaria sections offer a range of selected resources for research and education. Some examples:
Romania: The Government of Romania website has an English version. The National Institute of Statistics offers much information in English on health, education, the economy, tourism and so forth. The Romanian Academy is the national body for culture and education, and there is a social sciences section on the website. A very different resource is the comparitively new Business in Romania blog, with news on the business world there. Find out about development with the Romania Development Gateway. The Romanian Family Health Initiative works in services such as family planning, pre and post-natal care, and HIV/AIDS.
Bulgaria: The official Bulgarian government website has an English version and so does the National Statistical Institute. For news, try the Sofia Weekly. The Center for the Study of Democracy is a public policy institute “dedicated to the values of democracy and the market economy. ” There are also resources in our Tourism and Politics sections.
