Clicking on a letter will take you to a page of definitions where each term links to an external site. Written by senior level students studying Environmental Science 440/Chemistry 442: Air Quality at Sam Houston State University, many of the entries have hypertext links to other Internet sites. The glossary is maintained by the Chemistry Department at Sam Houston State University and the links are updated and augmented each year.

It describes ore minerals that are mined in the province because of their uses in industry (as sources of metals and rare elements) and their economic significance. The site includes written descriptions and colour images (with in situ examples) of minerals such as tourmaline, barite, gypsum, gold, malachite, pyrite, chromite, sulphur, fluorite, and granite building stone. Also summarised are the common uses of these ore minerals in industry and commerce.
