Asian Ethnology is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the promotion of scholarly research on the peoples and cultures of Asia. It began in China as Folklore Studies in 1942 and is now published semi-annually at Nanzan University in Japan. The journal seeks to deepen understanding of and further the pursuit of knowledge about the peoples and cultures of Asia and to facilitate intellectual exchange between Asia and the rest of the world. The journal presents formal essays and analyses, research reports, and critical book reviews relating to a wide range of topical categories, including folklore, popular religion, indigenous health and healing, indigenous environmental knowledge and collective memory and uses of the past. The entire journal is available on line. The web site gives details of editorial policy and membership of the editorial board, submission guidelines and subscription rates for the print version. There is also an author index, a cumulative contents listing and a search engine.

The Consortium on Human Rights and Expressive Culture is a student led research initiative headed by representatives of CUNY Hunter College. It aims to focus on the role of anthropology in social change and human rights movements. There is a particular focus upon ethnomusicology, expressive culture and the arts in relation to development, human rights and social justice. The blog was created in 2009 to support the project, its associated workshops, discussion forums and activities.

It provides free access to historical recordings from the World and Traditional Music collections of the British Library Sound Archive which would be of value to anthropologists and researchers of traditional music and ritual. They include over 200 examples of songs, chants and other recordings of traditional music and folk song made between 1898-1915 . Wide areas of the world are covered including: India; Pakistan; Torres Strait; Nigeria. Details on copyright and technical requirements are provided.

This site is maintained by the British Library as part of their Archival Sound recordings collection. It contains a small collection of online sound recordings of Indian traditional and ritual music and songs recorded by the recordist and ethnomusicologist, Rolf Killius, as part of a collaborative project with The British Library and the Horniman Museum. They include Sora Ancester ballads and marriage songs. The materials would be of value for researchers of Anthropology of ritual and ethnomusicology.
