Additionally, it also offers access to a number of databases containing information on social, economic and legal aspects of French speaking nations worldwide. These include - Banque Internationale d'Information sur les Etats Francophones' (BIEF) which provides information on French speaking parliaments and the rights of the person, Delegation Generale a la Cooperation Juridique et Judiciare which offers information on constitutional law in these areas. The Correlates of War project is an academic study of the history of warfare. It was started in 1963 at the University of Michigan by political scientist J. David Singer. It is renown for its collection of quantitative statistical data on international relations. This includes databases on: Inter-, Extra- and Intra-State War from 1816 onwards; formal alliances and diplomatic exchanges between states 1816-; territorial changes 1816-; membership of intergovernmental organisations from 1816 onwards. Many of the datasets can be downloaded from the website free of charge and used with proper citation. The site also includes information on the history and methodology of the project as well as examples of other projects and publications where the data has been used.
