Xerox Research Centre Europe

This research centre, although part of the US-based Xerox company, performs research into many social, organisational and psychological aspects of human work. Many of their technical reports and publications are available online (often as downloadable and printable PostScript), and include topics such as comparing reading from paper and online documents, examining factors affecting people's memory for intentions, social aspects of collaborative work, spatial cognition in using hypertext, and interpersonal communication. The site can be navigated quickly without loading graphics, and many of the technical reports would be difficult to obtain via libraries (although details for ordering paper copies are given). There is a search engine, which searches the whole site as well as the publications pages. The site is available in English, German, Spanish, French and Italian.
