This is the homepage of Abstracta, an online-only international philosophy journal (ISSN: 1807-9792) which focuses on the following areas: Epistemology; Logic; Metaphysics; Moral Philosophy; Philosophy of Language; Philosophy of Mind and Psychology; and Philosophy of Science. It publishes articles and book reviews, and receives submission written in English and Portuguese. This website allows access to all contents featured in the journal since the first volume was published in 2004. These are presented in PDF and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader for access. The site also contains the journal's submission policy and information about how to join their mailing list. Links are further provided to over 1000 electronic texts by over 300 philosophers; as well as to other relevant websites. The Bertrand Russell Archives at McMaster University brings together a wide variety of electronic resources on one of the most famous 20th century philosophers. The site offers many annotated links to external resources from around the world, ranging from lists of modules to encyclopaedic entries on Russell himself. Also based at McMaster is the "Bertrand Russell Research Centre" which is in the process of cataloguing his papers. The highlight of this site is, of course, the archive catalogue known as BRACERS. The physical archive is an immense database of correspondence to and from Russell with the complete text of some letters available electronically, and others available on request directly from the University. For those who require research material more general than that available through the archive, there is an assortment of introductory articles on the man and his thought through "The Bertrand Russell Gallery".

The Dualist is an ejournal of the best in undergraduate philosophy writing. The journal is not simply the home page of a philosophy student eager to publish her work. Instead, The Dualist is a high-quality refereed journal that solicits papers, thereby allowing undergraduates to publish their work in a respectable, scholarly environment. The magazine is primarily dedicated to essays in analytic philosophy, but there are also interviews with major thinkers, and occasional forays into Continental thought. With its commitment to the best writing, The Dualist will be of interest to undergraduates studying philosophy, literature or politics.

The Electronic Journal of Analytic Philosophy (EJAP) is a peer reviewed electronic journal for the publication of articles and reviews relevant to analytic philosophy, both as a historical movement and a current research program. The journal began publication in August 1993 and continued annually until 1998. One more issue (the most recent) was published in 2002. The content of all issues are freely and openly available through the archives. Many of the issues are themed, for example: the philosophy of Gilbert Ryle (1900-1976); the philosophy of Gareth Evans (1946-1980); methods of ontology; and value in nature. The emphasis is on analytic philosophy in both form and content. Language, reference, mind, and formal ontology all receive particular attention. There is, however, the occasional foray into other territory, such as existential phenomenology. Despite the present hiatus in its publication, EJAP retains its status of having set an exceptionally high standard for an online journal. Many of the authors are established philosophers in their field, and the archived articles would be of interest to advanced undergraduates and researchers in analytic philosophy.

ETHICS ETC is an online discussion forum for those interested in contemporary philosophical issues in areas such as normative ethics; metaethics; moral epistemology; moral psychology, applied ethics; social and political philosophy; and law. It was founded in May 2007 by Dr Matthew Liao of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Oxford. This website, which is licensed under a Creative Commons Licence, allows access to all discussions posted on the forum since its inception. It also contains opinion polls; information about books recently published; and links to other philosophy blogs, the homepages of relevant journals and online philosophy resources. Articles can also be accessed from the hyperlinks provided to the homepages of contributors. A search engine is available.

It is published four times a year, and is edited by Maria Baghramian of University College Dublin. This website makes available the tables of contents and abstracts for all articles published since 1997. The full-text of a sample issue is also available, although this requires free user registration. Topics covered include: transcendental constraints and transcendental features; ethics, postmodernism and the Enlightenment spirit of modernity; logical knowledge; theoretical paradox and practical dilemma; knowledge and power in Plato's political thought; the nature of transcendental arguments; and naturalizing the space of reasons. Language is a website compiled and written by students at Duke University. It presents succinct introductory essays on language and its relations to the following areas: philosophy; neurobiology; psychology; and cultural anthropology. There is also a general essay by the editor of the website. Of prime interest to philosophers is the essay by Marnie Riddle, which outlines the history and basic concepts of the various movements surrounding logical empiricism (including logical positivism), ordinary language philosophy and its roots in the early work of Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889-1951), and some more recent developments in philosophy of language. The other essays also contain material relevant to philosophy of mind, epistemology, and language, such as discussions of the work of the behaviourist B.F. Skinner (1904-1990), and the linguists Noam Chomsky (1928-), and Benjamin Whorf (1897-1941). The essays are clearly divided into sub-sections and a bibliography for each is provided. The essays may be of use to students who are seeking some basic information on language and its significance in certain areas of philosophy.

The Paideia Project On-Line is dedicated to the Proceedings of 20th World Congress of Philosophy at Boston University, held between 10 and 15 August 1998. The most substantial aspect of the site is the Paideia Archive, which makes available almost a thousand papers presented at the conference. The archive arranges papers by subject matter in an orderly and user-friendly manner, and the coverage is fairly comprehensive. Beyond the traditional philosophical categories, there are sections on the philosophy of sport, education, children, gender, and literature, plus regional entries focusing on African, Asian, American, and Latin American philosophy. The papers themselves are in printer-friendly HTML format and, with a few exceptions, are in English. They are written by professional philosophers and graduate students who attended the Congress. There is a sophisticated search function for finding particular topics in the archive. This resource will be of primary use to research students and faculty members, especially those investigating the less conventional or widespread areas of philosophy.

Two dogmas of empiricism

This web page contains an online version of a famous essay by W.V.O. Quine criticising some of the assumptions underlying empiricism. Willard Van Orman Quine (1908-2000) was one of the foremost American mathematicians and philosophers of the twentieth century. The 'Two Dogmas of Empiricism' that he objects to here are the belief in a fundamental distinction between analytic and synthetic truths, and the reductionism that assumes 'that each meaningful statement is equivalent to some logical construct upon terms which refer to immediate experience'. This e-text provides both the original 1951 edition of the essay and the revised 1961 edition. Where the texts vary, they are placed side-by-side for easy comparison. The footnotes are linked by hypertext, a good way to ensure the clean readability of the body of the text.

The organisation's central aim is to make the complete writings of Wittgenstein available for purchase in the form of electronic facsimile and transcriptions. The archives themselves provide links to an extensive range of Wittgenstein-related resources. A machine-readable version of Wittgenstein's unpublished works has already been completed and several examples are available here, under the "projects" section. The website also contains details of the archives' other functions and projects.
