This web page provides access to the annual Agricultural Census conducted in June each year by the government departments responsible for Agriculture and Rural Affairs for England, Scotland, and Wales. These government departments collect the 150 items of data and publish information relating to farm holdings for recognised geographies. This raw data has been converted using algorithms developed by Edinburgh University Data Library, into grid square estimates. Access to the time-series data are available to subscribing academic institutions in the United Kingdom. The site requires an authentication username and password, contact your library to see if your institution subscribes to this service.
