In this way the application explores the manipulation of images of the human form. The website, programmed using the open source software package 'Processing', enables users to manipulate images from nine different photographic databases. Available are both manual and fully automated settings. It is possible also to freely download the DeTouch sourcecode.

The project, created by artists Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale, showcases the work using a 1969 caravan as a mobile display area in order to exhibit at a number of different locations. Galleri NOR is an online photographic database of over 85,000 searchable images published by Norway's Nasjonalbiblioteket. It features work by four important figures in the history of Scandinavian photography: the Swedish photographic pioneer Axel Lindahl (1841-1906); Anders Beer Wilse (1865-1949) one of Norway's most influential photographers; the popular scientist and traveller Ørjan Olsen (1885-1972); and the folklorist and local historian Lyder Kvantoland (1893-1972). The collection includes a wide selection of images of people and places from the 19th and early 20th centuries, mainly from Scandinavia but also from Siberia in 1914. The material on each photographer includes a biographical summary and a bibliography listing titles of works by and about the photographer, a summary of contents and publication details. The website "Gardner's Photographic Sketchbook of the War" belongs to the Cornell University Library website and was published to celebrate the acquisition of the institution's seven-millionth volume, a copy of the renowned photographer Alexander Gardner's book 'Gardner's Photographic Sketch Book of the War' (Washington: Philp & Solomons, 1865-66). Of the 100 images published in the volume, 30 have been digitised along with the original captions, and can be viewed on the site. The photographs cover various aspects of the American Civil War 1861-1865, and can be browsed in seven categories, looking in turn at memorials, army camp life, Gettysburg, battlegrounds, government officials, communications, and the impact of war on the landscape, and include images of Abraham Lincoln, and both Confederate and Union soldiers.

It is published bi-monthly in print form. 25 back-issues are available on their website, for free download in PDF format. As of July 2007, the latest back-issue available is from December 2005. More recent issues are presumably available only in print form. The magazine has 10 pages per issue and is very well presented. It usually contains a substantial illustrated feature article and reviews of books and exhibitions.

The InterSpace Association was founded in 1998 as a non-profit association of artists, informatics engineers and "do-it-yourself media makers".
