To transcribe and code the surviving enumerators' returns from the Irish census of 1851, and to analyse this data in order to gain evidence about the demographic and social structure of parts of County Antrim during the mid-nineteenth century. The data is available to order from the HDS as a tab delimited text file. From this Web page you may download a PDF of images of the study documentation. To make use of this dataset you must first register with the HDS, and further information is supplied giving instructions. The data consists of: Details of residence, name, age, marital status, date of marriage, literacy, occupation, birth place; absent family members; those members of the family who died between 1841 and 1851. |
