Description: This is the website of the National Museum of American Illustration (NMAI). Based in Newport, Rhode Island, the NMAI was founded in 1998, with the support of the National Arts Club, by Judy Cutler and Laurence Cutler to house their collection of period pieces from the Golden Age of American Illustration (1870-1965). The collection covers the American Imagist Collection, which includes artists such as Maxfield Parrish, Norman Rockwell and N. C. Wyeth. The website includes: some background information to the collection and to illustration of the period; a list of some of the featured artists, with biographies, and thumbnail images that link to larger sized pictures; a virtual tour of the building (both interior and exterior); visitor information; and links to sites relating to illustration, the artists and art in general.
