Poéticas
Description: Produced in Argentina, Poéticas is a website dedicated to poetry in Spanish. It comprises an extensive anthology of poetry from predominantly Latin America and Spain and features work by well-known and lesser-known poets. The poets are ordered both alphabetically and by country. Argentine poets dominate the collection, including work by Alejandra Pizarnik and Jorge Luis Borges, but other Latin American countries are well represented. The Spanish poets featured include Miguel Hernández, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer and Jaime Gil de Biedma. Browsing through the entire collection is recommended, where the user will find poetry from all over the world translated into Spanish. The site's 'directory' comprises bio-bibliographic information about all the poets featured, as well as interviews with and essays on selected poets. This well-maintained and clearly-designed site offers the user easy access to a wide anthology of international poetry, and to valuable secondary material. It is highly recommended to students of poetry in Spanish seeking to broaden their knowledge of the field.
