Marca acme
Description: Marca Acme is an online magazine from Nicaragua whose main focus is Nicaraguan literature and alternative culture. It began life as Literatosis in 1999 and developed into its current format in 2003. It publishes short articles on any aspect of Nicaraguan literature and culture (including contemporary art, photography, and cinema), as well as interviews with writers, musicians and artists. Also available are news items related to the Nicaraguan cultural scene, including information about competitions, festivals, symposia and the presence of Nicaraguan literature elsewhere on the Web. A selection of original poems and short stories is also published on this site. Users may respond to the contents of the site via a lively discussion forum. As an introduction to the contemporary literature, and to some extent the contemporary arts, of Central America, this is an fairly good online magazine which should point interested readers to related online resources as well as providing a brief insight into current thinking.
