The World Digital Magnetic Anomaly Map (WDMAM) "is an international, scientific joint effort to compile and make available magnetic anomalies caused by the Earth's uppermost lithosphere, measured on continental and oceanic areas, referred to satellite measurements and geomagnetic observatories, in a comprehensive way, all over the world." Magnetic anomaly maps and data have been provided by member organisations of the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy since 1977. In 2005 a specific working group was set up to create the World Digital Magnetic Anomaly Map (WDMAM). This project website provides details of activities and meetings, the first edition of the map, downloadable data and images.

SeaDataNet is is an Integrated Infrastructure Initiative of the EU Sixth Framework Programme coordinated by IFREMER (Institut Francais de Recherche pour l'Exploitation de la Mer) which brings together 49 partners of major scientific marine research institutes. It aims to construct a standardised system for managing the large and diverse datasets collected by the oceanographic fleets and the new, automatic observation systems. "The SeaDataNet products are designed to validate and synthetize multidisciplinary datasets relevant to the monitoring of the ocean state and health. Variables of major interest are the distribution of heat and salt concentrations, sea level, currents but also data related to living marine resources and ecosystems such as nutrients and oxygen. The SeaDataNet website provides details of data access, available products, standards and metadata. A Virtual Educational Centre is under development. The website also provides details of meetings, publications, a list of partners and links to related websites.
