The searches available are subject searching by social care online keyword or browsing the social care online topic tree. Lord Darzi examines the progress the NHS has made in the year since his previous report, High Quality Care for All : NHS Next Stage Review final report, was published. Progress has been made on all aspects of quality - patient experience, patient safety and clinical effectiveness, with patients already seeing the difference. Proposals for the future include - the refining of targets based on evidence (with the scrapping of the 13 week outpatient and 26 week inpatient performance targets); clinicians ownership of their own budget ; and a peer review accreditation system. It was launched in 2009 with the aim of highlighting the daily lives and work of individuals involved in the social care sector (with the main emphasis on the UK). It comprises short films with associated fact sheets, advice and learning materials suitable for social workers, students, researchers and members of the public. All aspects of social care are covered including: personalisation, dementia and old age; safeguarding children, safeguarding adults, nutrition, children of prisoners and social care for vulnerable groups. Material is being continuously added. Technical and copyright information is displayed on the website.</description>

There are also topic headings dealing with world economic crisis, food and hunger, natural resources and global taxes.  <description>How social workers spend their time : an analysis of the key issues that impact on practice pre- and post implementation of the Integrated Children's System - is a study published in 2009 as Research Report  DCSF-RR087. It uses "secondary analysis of existing research data to provide information on the extent to which social workers report spending their time on direct activities with children, young people and their families, and on indirectly related activities such as liaising with other professionals or recording information. The paper compares data collected from two series of focus groups with social workers and managers in 2001/02 and again in 2007/08."   The research was carried out by the Centre for Child and Family Research at Loughborough University and published by  the Department for Children Schools and Families.  The  report is in PDF format and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.
