The Social Work Taskforce, chaired by Moira Gibbs, was set up by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and the Department of Health. It " has been working with frontline social workers, social work leaders, families and academics to support and develop the long-term reform of the social work profession, including training, recruitment and day-to-day practice, " across adult and children's services. These pages from the DCSF website include access to all the reports, including the final report that was published in December 2009, Building a safe, confident future. This "emphasises that the practice of social work needs to be raised to a new level " and should be led by a College of Social Work. The recommendations will be introduced by a Social Work Reform Board, also chaired by Moira Gibbs.
