Published since 1988, 'Espacio, Tiempo y Forma' is the annual peer-reviewed journal of the Faculty of Geography and History at the Spanish open university (UNED). It is divided in seven different series, corresponding with the departments at the faculty: Prehistory and Archaeology; Ancient History; Medieval History; Modern History; Contemporary History; Geography; and History of Art. Although the language of the publication is Spanish, most recent articles have abstracts in Spanish and English. Each series publishes research articles and book reviews within the specific field. In most cases, they focus on Spain, but other European and Latin American areas are also covered. The website lacks any form of search tool, and users can only browse each issue. However, all articles can be accessed for free and given the wide scope of the journal, browsing may yield interesting results.

Although Spanish philological studies may be more prominent, the journal also publishes articles within the fields of Classics; French; English; and comparative literary studies. Contributions are accepted in all relevant languages, but a good command of Spanish is recommended as this seems to be the main language of the publication. First published in 1984, the repository of the Spanish Open University has made available the full-text content for all issues published since then. Some articles published by Epos include: "History of Rome in Spanish Phraseology"; "Black Africa in Spanish Travel Books from the 16th and 17th centuries"; "A note on the meaning of os in the Old English Rune Poem"; and "Women and Marriage in Les quinze joies de mariage : le monde à l´envers".

The site for the Linguistic Atlas of the Iberian Peninsula (ALPI) is the electronic version of a linguistics project carried out between 1930-6 and 1947-1954 under the supervision of Tomás Navarro. The research group collected a large amount of data from all areas of Spain and Portugal, hence creating an invaluable corpus for the study of dialects of the Spanish language across the peninsula. Registration is required in order to search the database, but this is free and a very quick process. Once logged in, users may search the database by browsing a map of the peninsula, or the geographical sections available. The database consists of more 36.000 pages of dialectological and geolinguistic data, also available in .pdf format. ALPI represents an indispensable resource for the linguistic study of dialects of Spanish.

This site is a particularly useful source for researchers of general humanities and literature, but may also be useful for electrical engineers and lawyers as the full-text periodicals also cover these subjects.
