The Film Exchange on Alcohol and Drugs (FEAD) project began in 2008 and was designed, developed and resourced by Lifeline [q.v.] as an ongoing project. FEAD aims to show the wealth of experience and knowledge in the field; to support current debates and bring them to a wider audience; to provide discussion material for training and development purposes; to use video clips to share key documents and further reading; and to establish a platform through which important ideas can be shared with interested parties. The main purpose of the FEAD website is to provide access to a video bank of video clips related to drug and alcohol abuse. The paper ‘Intoxication and Intoxicated Behaviour in Contemporary European Cultures: Myths, Realities and the Implications for Policy, (Prevention) Practice and Research’ by Irmgard Eisenbach-Stangl and Betsy Thom is the twenty fifth Policy Brief of the European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research and was published in February 2009. The report highlights how binge drinking has been seen predominantly as a social problem associated with young people. This emphasis ”has neglected examination of the wider issue of 'intoxication' and 'intoxicated behaviours'. But to understand youthful binge drinking and associated behaviours, and to find ways of intervening to prevent or reduce harm, it is necessary to understand the prevailing concept(s) of acceptable and unacceptable forms of intoxication and intoxicated behaviours and its/their wider social and cultural determinants.” The report is available in PDF format for which users will require Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The Good Childhood Inquiry was commissioned by the Children's Society and launched in 2006 "as the UK's first independent national inquiry into childhood. Its aims were to renew society's understanding of modern childhood and to inform, improve and inspire all our relationships with children." On 5th February 2009 the Children's Society launched the findings of the inquiry in the report entitled 'A Good Childhood: Searching for values in a competitive age'. The website provides information on how the research was conducted, the evidence from the inquiry, recommendations from the inquiry and a summary of the report and the Children’s Society’s response to it. Currently the full text of the report is only available for purchase and details of how to do this can be obtained through these web pages.
